Coming up against our biggest rival, 'Wauneta, with hopes of revenge, the Longhorns took a 33-7 beating. Ron Milner was out most of the game with a shoulder injury. The Long- horns came back the next week to beat Trenton 20-O for the first win of the season. Continuing their winning ways the following week against Benkelman, imperial scored on the second play of the game. The touchdown play was set up by a pass from Dick Williams to Ward Chamberlain. Majors scored from the 4-yard line. The final score read 32-O. With two weeks' rest the Longhorns carrie up against the powerful Chappell eleven, and lost 34-13. On a chilly afternoon the Longhorns overran the Culbertson Bears 21-6. In the last game of the season we met undefeated Grant, state class C champions, and the Longhorns came out on the short end of the score. Dale Morse, all conference tackle, was chosen captain of the year. lim Majors, all conference fullback, led the teams scaring with til points. - ,,,4.lNI- V. lrxf The l950-51 Longhorn Basketball Cagers man- aged to win 9 while losing 4 in their scheduled sea- son. The Orange and Black got off to a good start, winning the first four games over St. Patricks of Sidney, Sutherland, Ogallala, and Wauneta. 'The Longhorns crossed over into Colorado to play Sterling and suffered their first defeat. Re- turning home, the Orange and Black split two games --CI one point victory over Oshkosh and a loss to Grant. lmperial traveled to Chappell and dropped one to the Buffaloes 45 to 62. The Longhorns hit their stride again, winning 4 out of 5 to finish the scheduled season. ln the Frenchman Valley Tournament the Long- horns drew a bye for the first round and then lost to Wauneta by one point. Imperial won their next two games, which netted them fifth place in the tournament. C. C. H.
