As we eagerly awaited Initiation, we looked over our casualties. As the result of all the fireworks we had broken arrns, collar-bones, etc. Falling off roofs seemed to be a lot of fun. This abil- ity may be acquired by anyone who is willing to put forth the necessary ef- fort. This is the fundamental purpose of a speech class. The speech student must acquire poise, learn spontaneity, know how to stand correctly, practice good tone production, learn how to or- ganize a speech and to express one's ideas to the best advantage.
