S., and certain things stand out in our memory. How enormous the building seemed the first day that we very timidly entered it. We overcame our fears when we were sophomores and learned the customs and traditions left by those who had gone before. NVe grew and by the time we were seniors we had laid aside our childish ways and assumed the dignity lllCI'ltGd only by seniors. As we leave, our one regret is that other classes will be unable to measure up to our standard because they have missed the lesson so vital that the paddle alone can teach. The fall of ,20 brought sixty-nine freshmen from all over Chase County to C. C. H. S. We took that little joke that never wears out, about being green, like good sports and struggled through that long year. Miss Crabb sponsored us. VVhen we came hack as sophomores we found the paddle banished and the retribution had to moulder away in our hearts. We had many good times at picnics and parties that year. Miss Crabb again sponsored us. As juniors we assumed the responsibility of giving a class play, The Early Bird, and putting on the annual Junior-Senior banquet. NVQ acquitted ourselves nobly in both, with Miss Kanode sponsoring us. During this year our Alma Mater was changed from a county to a community affair. This took some of our members but we started out our senior year with an enrollment of forty-one. HA Pair of SiXes, the senior class play, directed by Miss Lobaugh, was pronounced the best play ever pre- sented by a senior class in the history of the school. We had five letter men on the football team this year, Chuck Howard, Captain, Ralph Bailey, VVayne Remy, Less Mann and Paul Chandler. Chuck and Bailey received letters last year also. We have ranked high in other school activities, especially in music. During our senior year Wayne Remy proved a most excellent president. Ralph Bailey was vice-president and Lora Rell secretary-treasurer. Much of the success of our undertakings during the last year in C. C. C. H. we attribute to Miss Lobaugh, our class sponsor, who has been a friend and counselor to every member of the senior class. l 'U p PMID 18 VV 1 vt s rf, ,i gill: lq-T-.- ,ll-:rf --- if will Z4,ti?'t V 'x K 'Y' if ilxfg , , - q' 0 l . Several have dropped out and some have come i11to our midst so at the present time we have about thirty-five members. In our three years as a high school class we have taken active part in several different things. As freshmen we were represented on the debating team by VVilliam Seigle. VVe have always been proud of our class for its athletic ability. As sophomores five members of our class received C's,', most of these having been given for football although some few were for track. Thus far in our Junior year we have been very successful, being under the sponsorship of Mrs. Branson. VVe hope that our last year will be as enjoyable and profitable as our first three have been and that we may always be loyal to and uphold the standards of old C. C. C. H. S. C. C. H. S. for their first encounter with the mighty upper CIZISSIIICII as well as the ex- tremely wise faculty. Many good times were had during tl1e year, which passed swiftly. Then in the fall of 1923, C. C. C. H. S., again met the freshmen of 1922, not as freshmen, but as full-fledged sophomores of great ability and high scholarship. Good times were plentiful, as in the year before, but all of the time was not spent in play. Two of our members distin- guished themselves in football this year, and received C's.,' And now as the school year closes, the sophomores of C. C. C. H.
