The newest organization in the C0-Cll1'1'lClll2l.l' pro- gram of our school is the Future Teachers of America Club, sponsored by Mrs. Roach. The chapter name, Ralph D. Bluebaugh, was chosen to ll0ll01' the super- vising principal of Chartiers-Houston joint School System. The 1nai11 purpose of this club is to encour- age students to enter the teaching profession and to acquaint interested students with requirements and preparation necessary for teaching. On March 17, 1955 the Charter meeting was held, with installation of officers, presentation of the Char- ter and the induction of the members. Our chapter is a county. state and national atliliation of the Future Teachers of America Association. A goal of the cl11b is to build up a scholarship fund to be used by worthy seniors planning to become l'G2lCl1C1'S. Leading state and county educators and represen- tative from colleges have spoken to the club lll6'IHlX'l'S during regular meetings. The club has participated i11 the district convention at the U11iversity of Pitts- burgh and the state convention at Millersville State Teachers College. The action of the play took place in the living room of Rodney Dodd, an eccentric individual. Much to his dis- may, he became involved with an unscrupulous crook, a gun moll, gossipy women, college girls, an invalid aunt, and worst of all, an inventive butler. Rodneyls problems so completely overwhelmed him that he forgot he was supposedly an invalid. llowever, as the plot of the story drew to a close, the audience found Rodney's problems all solved. This play was directed by Mr. Ricck. Senior Pla NO MORE HOMEWVORKN Front row fl. to r.J: Byllye Chew, Vince Likar, -loanna Bellino, Don Kalosky. Scc- ond row: Rob Lesso. Bill Cosgray, Alice Rell. Pamela jones, a well-liked senior, was made principal for a day when the entire office force was absent. Matters were complicated by a freckled face boyfriend and a jealous girl- friend. The constant interruptions of various com- plaining teachers and troublesome students did nothing to clarify matters. But, as usual, boy got girlg principal got his office, and the school re- turned to normal. The cheerleaders. a lively and colorful part of athletic events, keep the fans in spirit and urge our boys to victory. Each year new cheerleaders are chos- en by the varsity cheerleaders and Miss Peacock, the coach. They are selected for: cheering ability, scholastic achievement and school citizenship. The four new girls chosen this year are pictured below. They will replace the four Senior members of the squad, l.oretta, Nancy, Dolores, and Ruth. Outfits for the football season were gold V-neck sweaters, white suede skirts and collars, and white bucks. For basketball games and wrestling matches the girls exchanged their gold sweaters for charcoal gray ones. Added accessories to their uniforms this year were white and maroon felt hats and shakaroos, new inegaphones and jackets.
