r Bluebau h speaks - - - Ralph D. Bluebaugh Sarah Porcaro Q Un nf, In our voyage of life we are coming rapidly into our first port-graduation. Our ship has carried us smoothly and safely over the waves of unrest and chaos in a post-war world which has been literally torn asunder by ravages of war and post-war instability. We are about to set our feet upon the shores of what we hope will be a world of happiness and peace. Thus far, we have made our voyage together. From here each of us will chart his own respective course. As individuals, we embark upon the voyage of life. We have landed on the shores of a world which is hopefully searching for the elements which compose lasting peace. Mingled with these elements at the present time are fragments of iealousy, fear, and hate. We seek happiness and success. We seek freedom of individual enterprise. We strive with the best that is in us. We, therefore, want to do our fair share to clear away these clouds of jealousy, fear, and hate, and to crystallize the elements of peace into a world of good will and progress which all men and nations will strive to strengthen and preserve. What we believe determines what we do with our lives. Consequently we must keep ourselves well informed. We must have faith: faith in our Creator, faith in mankind, and faith in ourselves. Faith implies action, for it is that cre- ative power that lies within us. We must have purpose, for the world is just as big as the purpose we achieve. We must have courage to stand up for our convictions which should be based upon a Christian philosophy of a democratic way of life. This way of life chooses freedom, righteousness, and God. -Ralph D. Bluebaugh

T e Editor Speaks . . . Harry Miller 'fun Unqaqr, Four years ago we Seniors started our high school career. We were slightly bewildered at the many things that we know we had to meet. How- ever, as we went from one year to the next, we became more sure of our- selves. Now in our Senior year we are proud of the fact that we had come this far. We realize that we could not have done this, had it not been for the teachers, principals, and School Board. We know that we owe them a debt of gratitude that can't be repaid by a few words. We are now ready to take one of the biggest steps in our lives. We have received our training and are prepared to launch out into the world and meet its many problems. Many of us will go to college and others will prefer to start earning their own living, whatever it may be, we will step into it as men and women who will be proud to say that we graduated from Chartiers High School. -Harry Miller
