During the last few years at Charter Oak, Coach McNeil has led both teams to many victories and league championships. He spends many hours before and after school and sometimes even weekends preparing his teams members for upcoming games and swim meets. Coach McNeil, who has lived in Southern California all of his life, has been swimming since the age of 10. He continued swimming in high school and was on the Water Polo and Swim teams at Citrus College. Later he attended California State Polytechnic University and was on the CCAA champion- ship team. Coach McNeil then went to La Verne College and obtained his teaching credential. He enjoys backpacking, bicycling, body surfing, good food and spending time with his wife Ren- ette. Coach McNeil has a secret desire to grow a beard and to live at the beach where he was once a lifeguard. The 1977 Sheild Staff is privileged to dedicate this year's yearbook to Mr. jon McNeil. X Q ,E
