1955 September Band marched at the State Fair, placing 14th. First day of school, eight new teachers. Lost our first Cross-Country meet to Knightstown. C. C. meet with Morristown, they were tough. C. C. with Knightstown, more of the same. Seniors pose for their pictures. October We take Cross-Country with Carthage. Baseball game with Arlington, tied, 5-5. B. B. with Knightstown 3-13. Cross-Country with Morristown, we lost. All-school party, more fun! B.B. with Fortville, 7-6. B. B. with Knightstown, 1-3. Cross-Country won over Spiceland. B. B. with Mt. Comfort, '2-5g end of first 6 weeks. B. B. with Hancock Central, 8-10. Kuniah Indian dance group sponsored by Scouts. First issue of Eagle News, 10th year of publishing. Band in marching contest at Southport, rated first. Hackleman placed 31 out of 130 men at Cross-Country meet at Indianapolis. B. B. game with New Palestine, Junior Halloween Festival: individual pictures taken for annual. First day of Teachers association - Vacation! Band at Butler Centennial - a good day to forget. Land Judging team entered state meet at Jasper. November First pep session with Ann, Rowena, and Judy. Pre-season basketball game CHS BLUE vs CHS WHITE. Seniors sell ads for annualg it would rain! Convocation by Mr. McCleereyg he gave theme for the year: Together. Gathered around the flagpole for picture. Seniors measured for caps and gowns, all hopeful! Convocation by Miss Rainesg flag now flying over CHS. Seniors ordered cards and invitations, certain now. Sophomores received sweaters. First basketball game of season, Hancock Central, Senior play, Grandma Goes to Town . Thanksgiving vacation. Volley all games started, continuing every Tuesday. End of second grading period. Honor roll growing. December Basketball game with Maysg Miss Mounts had Convocation. State scholarship testg convocation by Mrs. Miller and the 'lth gradeg B. B. game with Wilkinson. Kennard played their game here. Chorus sang at convocation conducted by Mr. Jones. B. B. game with McCordsville. Another game, and with Lewisville. Juniors received rings - good looking, too. Senior band members received award sweaters. Traveled to Wood High School in Indianapolis. Christmas party and gift exchange at convocation. January Back to the old routine. Mrs. Curry's convocationg pep session and game with Mt. Comfort. Game with Hancock Central. Exams while thinking of County Tourney scores. Advanced to semi-finals by winning over Mt. Comfort 63-54. Vacation - round-up only for report cards. Eliminated in semi-finals by County Champs, Hancock Central. More basketball, Fairland this time. Poured it on New Palestine, 59-39. Convocation by Mr. Green and Science Department. Ball game with Franklin Twp Arlington proved too tough. February Carthage game, 79-82. Huckleberry Finn shown on new FFA projector at con- vocation. District Solo Contest at Earlham. Soloisis perform for the school, very giood. Scouts' convocation. Game with Wil inson. Yell block gave first performance. Edinburg game, 58-61. Their top scorer was only 6'6 g three of ours are 5'6 . Booster Club Party. A happy time with minor casualties. Singing at convocationg Knightstown ball game. Four happy people, Rowena Silver, Beverly Poer, Linda Peffer, and Judy McClarn- on won firsts at All-State Solo Contest. Last game, New Salem. Sectional Tourney, played Franklin Twp. in second game, and WON! Played Greenfield in semi-final and WON! Lost in t e final game with Hancock Central, 57-68. March Hooray! Annuals are finished! Annuals are done! Special convocation, The Dragon. 4-H registration. Let's make this year the best. All-day practice at Greenield for festival. Hancock County Music Festival showed result of concentrated practice. Blue River Twp. 4-H Banquet. Eighth Grade attended Butler on Science field trip. April Concert Band Contest. Charlottesville Music Festival. Music presented by all grades and high school music department. Primary grades enjoyed train trip from Richmond to Indianapolis. May P. T. A. meeting and clothing classes gave a style review of clothing made in classes. Baccalaureate, 2:30. Seniors enter last week of high school. Commencement, 8:00 p. m.
