BARBARA DAVIS, Secretary and Treasurer of the Camera Club, was in Band 4 years, Booster Club, Chorus, and Eagle News. Jo Bar was in both the Junior and Senior Plays. CLEONA ROLER, or Daught as everybody calls her, was in the Junior Play. She also took part in Chorus and helped out in the cafeteria. MARILYN COOK entered C. H. S. in her Junior year from Maxwell where she was a member of the Sunshine Society and Band. While here, Cookie was in Cho- rus, Camera Club, the Senior Play, and on the Eagle News Staff. LEON SEELY was in the Booster Club, Hi- Y, F.F. A. , and Judging. Seal took part, too, in Basketball, Track, and Cross Country. SHIRLEY ONEAL was Secretary in her Sopho- more year. Sunshine also belonged to the Booster Club. RUTH MCDANIEL, or Red as she may be called, was in the Junior Play. She was a member of the Chorus and in her Senior year worked in the cafeteria. MARILYN DELHAGEN, another entry from Maxwell, was in the Camera Club, Chorus, and Sunshine Society. Besides this, she was Editor of the Eagle News, Office Girl, and Librarian. FREDRICK MUEGGE was a member of the Booster Club, Hi-Y, and F. F. A. Herbie also took part in Judging, Baseball, and Basketball 4 years and Track 3. S,

LINDA PEFFER, Editor of our Annual, Vice-President of the Camera Club, member of Tri-Hi-Y, Vice -President of Band, and member of Band 5 years, was in the Chorus, Booster Club, and Junior and Senior Plays. SANDRA OWINGS was in the Junior and Senior Plays, Booster Club, Camera Club, Tri-Hi-Y, and Chorus. Suzie played in the Band for 5 years, too. PATRICIA HAYWOOD entered C. H.S. from Greenfield where she was Treasurer of the Junior Class, in the Science-Math Club, and G. A. A. Pat was Secretary of our Student Council, in the Camera Club, and Senior Play. MARTHA EDWARDS was in the Booster Club, Chorus, and Eagle News. Mart also had a part in the Junior Play. BEVERLY BEESON was in Band for 6 years. Bev was in Chorus 3 years, Camera Club, and the Junior Play. KENNETH GRIFFITH took part in Basket- ball, Baseball, and Track 4 years, Cross Country 2 years, and Judging one year. Kenny was in F. F. A. , Booster Club, and Camera Club. LLOYD YOUNG was in Chorus, Track, and Judging. Digger was in the Junior Play, too. ANN COUCH, one of our strong-lunged yell leaders, was in Booster Club, Camera Club, Tri-Hi-Y, and Chorus. Annie also belonged to the G. A. A. and F.H. A. at Alexandria.

CLASS HI TORY The 1956 Charlottesville High School graduating class will add 28 names to the fast growing list of alumni, that is, if all finish this school year, Nine of them began their school careers in this school - Beverly Beeson, Barbara Davis, Julia Holli- day, Martha Edwards, John Scott, Gene Holliday, Kenneth Griffith, Beverly Poer, and Rowena Silver. Mrs. Frost was their teacher. In the next two years Ruth McDaniel and Lloyd Young joined the class. Miss Raper taught them in the second and Mrs. Wilson in the third grade. In the fourth grade the Westland pupils came to Charlottesville - Pauline Wicker, Jimmy Shoufler, Fred Muegge, and Leon Seely. Ann Athey and Sandra Owings also entered the class when it was taught by Miss Mae Willis. Mrs, Vestal kept them busy during the 5th grade and Mrs. Bell taught the 6th, Shirley Oneal came in the 5th, Ann Couch and Linda Peffer came in the 6th, Mr. Robert Bell welcomed them in the 7th grade and was their sponsor until his resignation in the spring of 1955. Daught Roler and Jean Young entered Charlottesville that year, and Gene Holliday returned, having tried Central of Knightstown and Eden. Mary and Martha Mooney, the guess which twins , came from Greenfield during their freshman year. In the sophomore year, Marilyn Delhagen came from Maxwell. Mrs. Curry was co-sponsor during the sophomore and junior years. Marilyn Cook and Barbara Bledsoe joined the class as juniors. At the end of a work-crowded junior year, the class, accompanied by Mr. Eilar and Miss Raines, realized their long-planned dream trip to Washington and New York. Their senior class changed only slightly from the year before, gained two: Pat Haywood from Greenfield and Ann Couch, who returned after absence of two yearsg and lost three: Joe Beyers, Sandra Gatlin, and Joan Hughes. Many things have been crowded into their senior year. Many have maintained a high scholastic standard, won honors in the band, all have helped to produce the annual, and all have taken an ac- tive part in the school activities.
