AMADON JOHN FINNE ROY ROBINSON fM UEMORY OP WOU fE LOUT WEMBER OF THE OASS OF '69 PROPHECY Who are these happy, happy folk who have gathered here to rally? They are the successful alumni of Davenport's Charlotte Valley. They are all gathered at the old school after 20 years away From near and far the class of '69 will celebrate today. George LaForgia has brought his band so everyone will dance. He plays up such a storm, that people go into a trance. He and his band have played at places high and low Like Tommy’s, the Bell Hotel, and six weeks at Rainbow. Doug Amadon flew in from Florida to join all his old pals He looks so handsome in his uniform; he's the hit of all the gals. In fact it mattered little to all of those who came That though friend Doug flew all the way, he never used a plane. There was an old woman who lived in a shoe, they say. But who is this mother who is coming over our way? It looks like Fran Pedersen; but who is following in her steps? There's little Fran, Tom, Sue, Bob, Jim, Dick, Fred, and - little Allen Epps. Donna Warner greets motherly Fran and her entire train. She takes all of the children and walks down a nearby lane. Donna is a school teacher and her happiest of times Are spent helping little kiddies to learn their nursery rhymes. Nancy Nelson enters with pail and shovel in her hand It's always been her secret wish to dig things in the sand. She thought she'd be an archeologist, but to the business world she's bound. And so she types and types and types when she'd rather dig things from the ground. Craig Harvey sports a flowing beard and coat of lamb's fleece. He has organized the first force of hippie-police. The cops now march in protest against those who fight crime There just is no other way for the fuzz to pass their time. The first female astronaut, Linda Hillis greets all with a smile Everyone is happy to see her 'cause she's been away for awhile. She has just returned from the moon, believe that if you please And she says - she swears it's true - it really is green cheese! Patti Linhart joined the crowd and came out of her retreat, (You know she's a hippie writer and she isn't very neat.) Her books are very famous and are sold throughout the land It's too bad school kids can't read them - but of course, you know, they're banned! Gary Keyser walks around with pencil, and slide rule He’s in the drafting profession - that's why he went to school. He has a great future and everything will be fine As soon as Gary learns just how to draw a straight line. Everyone hates to go to the dentist's - at least it used to be so But now that Linda Smith's the doctor's assistant, everyone wants to go! It is such a wondrous pleasure to watch her dental skill That folks line up for miles and miles and keep screaming for the drill! A thing of beauty is a joy forever, so the poets say So Betty Sanford is a beautician and now day after day She curls, and rolls, and pins and waves and fusses with great care 'Til all the girls have gotten wigs to cover up their hair. Roger Meyerhoff left the farm and went as far as he could go He got tired of seeing all those cows — long row upon long row Now as an airplane mechanic this is a most rewarding factor; He sees rows and rows of aircraft and fortunately not one tractor. Maxine Reed leaped up to the crowd and put them all on the run She teaches phys. ed. at C.V.C.S. - now doesn't that sound like fun? Now this really is an extraordinary feature: Max was hired to instruct business but ended up as a gym teacher. Howard Dahms longed for so much from life - he was so full of hope He wished to be a flower child, and wanted to be Pope. He has become a policeman and his specialty is bombs And as for all his other dreams, he doesn't give two Dahms! Tim Graham is very rich; in South America he made his money Yes, that is where he made his loot, in the climate pleasant and sunny. As we walk around and visit folks, no matter where we go We run into our friend Tim who shouts, Hello amigo! Andrea Epps is a doctor of animals - she cures them of their ills. She rubs them down, she fixes them up, she gives them lots of pills. She's never too busy to cure hound, or horse, or fox She's even been know to cure the chicken, of chicken pox. Here comes Mary Ann who everyone thinks is a dear Though she's trusty in uniform, there's one thing the doctors fear; For every time a sick patient gives her a call Nurse Mary, with her cart, goes racing through the hall. Mary LaForgia is also a Florence Nightingale She goes winging through the hospital on Mary Ann’s trail For the good of the patients, in fact for everyone’s sakes Mary bought for Miss Sargent a good set of good brakes. Tom Davis is a general in the United States Air Force He is a real wonder and a great patriot, of course He couldn't learn to fly a plane and that's the reason for The army making him the head of the whole Air Corps. Another officer who comes to join the class is Admiral John Finne He arrives in his Coast Guard uniform, so handsome, tall and skinny. John made a mistake and guarded a pale Shakespearean ghost He misunderstood when they said, Be sure to guard the Coast.” Debbie Hillis is a secretary in a fast-growing concern, She went to secretarial school and while was there did learn To do filing and bookkeeping, and on the keys to tap. She also learned to take dictation upon her boss' lap. Sue Jersey, who is a missionary, set herself high goals. But foremost among them all was the saving of lost souls. Recently she became very ambitious and tried to save the lot Sue left the country on the run before they boiled her in a pot. Roy Robinson runs a used car lot and is known as Friendly Roy He says that he will make a good deal with every man and boy. He urges one and all to come right in and try 'em He finally decided he'd rather sell than buy 'em. Ted Rohrs went to Broome Tech to learn the drafting trade He was sc successful, he really made the grade. He took over the school and is now its new dean And like every new Broome, he really sweeps it clean. After the class of '69 had had its fun and a chance to reminisce They began to depan one by one with a hug, a pat or a kiss. So once again they leave the school among its rocks and rills Good old Charlotte Valley - our alma mater amid the hills.
