'.l5.j 1' CLHSS FROM 1954, THE BIRTHDATE of the Class of 957, we trace our footsteps . . . On September the sixth, the footprints began as sixty-four of us became pre-clini- cals. The day may not be recorded in history but to these, it began the memorable three years. Coodbyes were said to parents, sweethearts and friends and we became a part of the student body of C. lVl. H. The first week, the upperolassmen and faculty helped us to feel that We ubelongedf, There were parties for us but the Hfitting- in process was slow. Getting settled in our rooms, trying to get acquainted with so many new people and learning our Way around left us with a soared and empty feeling. Another exciting event was the Christmas dance followed by the Christmas tree party, after which we all packed our bags to go home for the long awaited vacation. The next four months passed rapidly with longer hours on the Hoor and more threats to go home and final cramming for exams. And finally, the night which had once seemed only a dream was here . . . Capping. The following day, work was interrupted frequently as we paused to look in the mir- ror and to reassure ourselves that the small white cap was still ours. After two weeks' vacation we came back and began to know what an eight hour day was. The summer passed quickly and before we knew it we were juniors .... We began special services, 3-1 1, and study hours. For our class officers we chose Marilyn Daly, president, Janey Waggener, vice-president, Shirley Wood, secretary, and Ann Britt, treasurer. Christmas came and brought with fContinued on Page 93j PAT BLANTON and CAROL DULANEY, Historians Page 25
