Peace. -Sanskrit Qur Teen Age Diplomot Many Americans realize that they know very little about other countries of the world, especially those that speak a different language. They also realize that ignorance breeds misunderstand- ing, suspicion, fear, and hate. These things must be overcome if the people of the world are to live peaceably to- gether. With the help of the United Nations and the American Field Service, the Rochester section of the Association of Teen Age Diplomats has been able to place fourteen boys and girls from vari- ous other countries in American homes. lngerid Jacobsen, of Oslo, Norway, has spent the school year 1952-1953 with Walk together, talk together, Oh Ye Peoples of the earth: Then, shall ye know one another and have This saying is the heart of the Association for Teen-Age Diplomats. Friends From Across the Seo Eva Maria Graf, now living with her aunt and uncle in Ro- chester, came to the United States from Zella-Mehlis, a small town in the Eastern Zone of Germany. She came to further her education and to make her home here. Eva is a post graduate at Charlotte. Living in the United States, she will help create international friendship and a realization that we are all neigh- bors and that we all have common goals in life. What better diplomat could any nation have? Eva is considering becoming a nurse. Hanna Werk came to the United States to live with her father in Rochester. She is enrolled in Charlotte as a post graduate. Coming from Berlin, Germany, Hanna is well acquainted with the problems her native land faces. Germany, a land divided between Communistic and Democratic followers, is truly repre- sentative of the current world struggle. She will be instrumental in the promotion of better understanding between the old world and the new. Hanna is planning to become a nurse. U9
