The new addition, “New” was the password for the first day of school; new faces, new teachers, and new friends crowded the halls which were shining in their fresh coats of wax and paint. The smell of wax filled the air; laughter rang once again through halls which had stood silent for three months, and the tension of doing new and different things filled the air. ■■■■■■■ Mr. Powell, hand director, in- spected the band room in the new addition as it neared completion. “Natatorium. The swimming pool, one of the latest newcomers to Charlotte high, gave a much needed opportunity for instruction and experience in swimming.
