because the gxrls ma1nly Mar1an Wood Joyce Roberts and Phylhsl Baum sald there were too many' g1rls there The mot1on was amended by Wally Bruce to letl the glrls remaln home Th1s start ed an argument between Wally and Helen Smlth Helen threw a book at Wally but mlssed h1m and h1t Murray Stall When qu1et 0 agam re1gned Bob called for a vote on the amendment but xt was defeated by the glrls The mot1on pass d but a ques t1on was ralsed about transporta t1on J1m Wensley moved that they go by Luxury Llner but Mary R1Ch3YdS and Klrke Har rmgton objected because they get SE3SlCk Jerry Chapman amended the mot1on to have the class fly by Stratocru1ser bu Pat Cook and Ellen Kays ob lected b caus of the danger and smze of the class The amendment was rejected but the mot1on passed to go by boat The matter of gettlng to the west coast was brought up Roger Nelson moved that school buses be used He was qulckly sllenced by Charles Schaefer and Bruce Ph1ll1ps wh1le Bonme Wells Mary Alxce Br1ggs and Bertha Moore shouted that the buses 1 couldn t go that far and all would be exhausted by the t1me they reached there In the mad con fuslon that followed Mr Stall was accrdentally tr1pped by someone and whxle John Clark and Bruce Brown helped h1m to h1s feet Bob qulckly took a vote whlch defeated the mot1on It was then decxded that the class go by tram and the matter was dropped unt1l
