The sec- ond contribution, From the South, contained hits of the Ne- gro chants such as Go Down, Moa ses, Peter, Go Ring Dem Bells, Steal way, and Joshua Fit de Battle of Jericho. Sections Perform Waggery For Woodwinds, a newly published number, was a more or less swing novelty featur- ing the woodwind section with solo cadenzas. The next selection, High Flyers, presented the cornet trio with band accompaniment. The last choice was Little Joe the Wrangler, a cowboy musical storv with some modern rhythm. For a high school band the Orio les have a remarkably good instru mentation They enter into the spirit of each selection and show the fine training they have receu While the two senior bands were preparing to play in mass band the cadet band again provided va riety with three selections Tune n Overture Lake Hamilton Nlaltz and Hail Hornets March Mass Band Pleases After a short delay while thr stage set up was being reorganized the curtains opened on the mem bers of both senior bands They played four marches Pride of the Wolverines The Skywrlter Drake Relays and Saratoga I'h1s was an excellent way in which to conclude the evenings entertainment The full bodied tones of all in struments were harmoniously com WINTER WONDERLAND Jobs Daughter Formal Dance Masonic Temple December 28 Barney McCardeI 200 couple 00 1 bined in the concluding chords. The entire program was narrated by Mr. C. J. Wotring, who did an excellent job of carrying on for Winfield Pardee, who couldn't be Master of Ceremonies because of sudden illness.
