As the people grew more numerous, there were more ideas and more dreams. However the basis of these dreams and ideas was freedom. That is why the people banded together to form a new nation 200 years ago. . Likewise, each of us have our own dreams and ideas. But in order to make these dreams come true, it is necessary for us to work together as one. And when we accomplish our dreams and reach our goals it will be together, and we can proudly say We The People . . 1 1 C-' L' s'1 , ,I SJ U -i w f- i ff,-,,. 218 2.-fr. . The C.H.S. junior is an Ameri- can teenager, in the prime ofhigh school. He lives life hard and fast. You're growing up. making more and more decisions for yourself all the time. Things are coming at you so fast. your head spins. The security of high school is almost over. Next year you'll be getting a full time job, or going to college, or maybe enter- ing the service, or .... who knows? When it comes to class projects. the juniors put in their two cents worth. The pumpkin sale was a smashing success. And the prom at Shanty Creek cost them a cool thousand. They really have to get down to work if they're going to have their senior trip in Hawaii next year. Ah yes, like sand through the hourglass, these are the days of our lives. Nancy Jo Alger Thomas Bacon Roxanne Barrett Randall Bearss Lee Begrow William Bellows ? The activities began as usual with the excitement ol' announcing Sue Kane as our Queen at the bonfire and rally Thursday night and ended with a dance attended by many alumni. As a special treat the band put on an extra-ordinary half- time display which included the un- furling ofa giant flag. And as always the team played their best to help celebrate the occasion. It didn't seem possible that the countdown calander had finally reached zero when just yesterday it was one hundred. The last few weeks seemed to drag by ever so slowly, and then before we knew it we were marching to the chords of Pomp and Circumstance. It seemed funny to be as old and as big as the Seniors were four years ago. Now we were the only ones left from that time, and it was now our turn to graduate. lE'.'erything seemed to slip by so fast . . .just yesterday we were mature 7th and 8th graders. The girls took shop and the boys took Home Ec. There were basketball games and girlis Health class with Mr. Bolduc. Then it was High School, and graduation seemed so far away. There were the first spec bus rides featuring hit songs like Hey Lfoddyi' and One Hundred Bottles of Beerii, along with taking wrong turns and going the LONG way home from Cheboygan. Eventually, the coun- seling center became a second home and the attendance policy got tougher but avoidable . Before we knew it, it was Graduation day, with break- fait at the Weathervane. Everything else became a mist of watercolor rnemories . . . getting the caps on just right, trying to figure out how the collar goes on, smiling for pictures, having Mrs. Grubaugh pin on yellow roses, ztanfiing in line, left, right, left, proud parents, squirt airy., up the three longest steps in the world, a hand- Zlake, a diploma, an alumni.
