Paul Fore-Ward QAIias-Golf and Cross Countryl May your fairways be wide, And your sandtraps be few May your drives be long, And your putts run true. This seemed to hold true MOST of the time for this year's golf team, as they turned in quite a successful season. Sparked by some eager returnees, the prospects look good or even better for next year. Boy am I poopedli' This was one of the more frequently uttered phrases by members of the ping-pong team? No, it was this year's cross-country team that did all the panting. But it paid off. They found an improved season as a reward, and with most of the team returning next year, they should do a lot less panting in '75. ' a w ' J. i xky . . r p l if f X Golf team from left to right: R. We started with high hopes but found the going not quite as easy. We really had a good team. it's just that there were a few that were better. Their final record was nothing to be ashamed of. Espe- cially when you consider how close some of the games were. We just about topped St. lgnace and gave Boyne City a real scare. but those three points were enough to give the loss to us. However. the team also showed us some impressive victories. with some impressive playing by all. So the season wasnt one to be scratched from the records. but merely a step in becoming a champion- ship team. To receive an award, you do things like break the most test tubes and type 60 words a minute. But there is also a more serious side to the Awards Assembly. It is the time when we salute the top ten seniors, hand out the science awards, and dedicate the 73-74 annual. This yearis dedication encouraged a standing ovation by the faculty and entire stu- dent body. The Awards Assembly is also the time of year when you find that all the homework was worthwhile. You finally get something for your efforts besides a pat on the back. Although not everyone receives an award, everyone deserves one forjust making it through the school year. . , R :km .3 ' - .L .. .Q damn Awards, i t l i ? and More Awards ,... ! iw N X il.. Ahh!! We could finally say, Only one more! We plowed through with sheer determination led by President Gay and her cabinet of Sue, Ann, and Cindy. It was indeed a year for women's rights! U.S. History became a standard favorite for all Juniors, as on the days of the tests many could be seen reciting the clauses of the Monroe Doc- trine or some other such gem of America's past to them- selves. The class of l75 finally reached the point where they could look down on the in-coming middle-schoolers falias freshmenj with an air of sheer superiority, a priviledge al- lowed only to Juniors and Seniors, of course. We were drunk with power! ff: W , ,Q vr,mwfwa,11ii '.', 3 ., an it 1-mv' V ,V ,- wwf?
