Varsity Pirates 1968-69 As the year progressed, so did this yearas Pirates. Although the Pirates9 competitors had more experi- ence, the team gave an all out effort for CHS. This was revealed throughout the season, as the Pirates finished with a 15-5 record. Even in their defeat by Madison in the sectional, the Pirates showed themselves to be strong contenders. Although this year9s team was a young one, the Norman KalkhOff boys gained much, both in basketball ability and in Guard, 6,0,, character, through sportsmanship and competition. Booster Club Spirit is a keyword at CH5. It often makes or breaks the athletic teams produced on the hard- wood. the track and the playing Field. The strained. hoarse voices of the CH5 Booster Club are witnesses to the spirit which they instill in our athletic teams. These students from the various classes have banded together to lead the Pirates in the songs and cheers which show our deep feel- ings for the school and its activities.
