The hot, dry weather made practice even rougher for those of us who had had an easy summer. Sept. 7. The Warriors opened the season by overwhelming Durant 26-0. Leon made two touchdownsg G. W. , oneg Cole, one on a pass from Panny. Panny converted twice. Sept. 14. West Tallahatchie outscored us 14-0. To top it all off, Tucker dis- located a shoulder and Pap broke his hand! We can always, however, look back with pride to 1950 when we licked them 42-O. We can always say Wait 'Til Next Year! Sept. 21. The Fulton Indians came to our town and were scalped 42-20. Touchdowns scored were Lilly, Newton, G. W. and Martin, one and Taylor twog extra points scored were G. W. two, Robert two, and Taylor two. Sept. 24. Rosie Dempsey was elected Football Queen and Ann Forrest, Sis Little, Jackie De Mange, and Joyce Allison, Maids. We really have our share of good-looking wimmen around these parts. Sept. 28. Homecoming was a big event for us! We defeated Batesville 14-13 for our first DVC triumph. Leon reallv starred by running 70 yards for one 55
