Jeanie Nichols, Regina Harracks, and Paula Vermillion raise poinsettias to sell during the Christmas season. Classroom bozoor placement. Therefore, physical Many activities and clubs required money for equipment and events that just wasdt in the schooYs budget. Therefore, fundraisers for activities in the school were very important. To raise the needed money, students and teachers thought of many things to sell. For the Prom budget each junior home- room needed to raise $40, and to do so they held bake sales. There usually was at least one bake sale a week at lunch. Those who didnit want to bake food for the sales were allowed to bring in a set amount of money depending on how many people were in the homeroom. Juniors and seniors who were on the prom committee sold Christmas candles to help pay for the prom. In the gyms much of the apparatus was in need of re- education classes sold wall calendars to raise money for new equipment, such as basketballs and volleyballs. The French exchange trip had the French Club bringing Gummy Bears and Twins to market strait from Europe. To make money for their various activities, the Bunny Club ped- dled MdaMs Sign Language classes and Sandi Myerst speech class tried to raise $60 for a special adapter which would connect a camera with a video recorder, This would enable the Sign Language classes to tape them- selves signing. Selling helium balloons at football games was one means to raise money for music and props for the choir. Student Life h 29
