A Q rl- I ! g 4 ' ' li' I- iE?7 SQWZQY ' 4gHwM-m my T fvvun..,,,..-H . .- ., RHF' Q SENIOR CLASS HISTORY OFFICERS President Joyce Walton Vice President Bill Brown Secretary Sue Griffin Treasurer Geraldine Badgett Sponsor Lr Albert R Feldhoff Little did we know as we entered the of goodcid CHS in the wonderful year of '4 were destinedto become such an Noutstanding Ne weren't very sure of ourselves then, of and the upper classmen of those days took w h portals that we class N course, at lit tle assurance we had away from us That didn't hold us back Our boys began their career in the sports, and we were proud of them As freshmen we didn't do very much except furnisn a football queen and discover that one of our girls had talentin the declamation field Tnat year, as I remember lt, we made ourselves both great and patrioticwmuxwe pre sented a play to boost the bond sales In our debut proved our prowness both in fun and in scnolar shipby sponsoring school parties and supplying many names for the honor roll Our sophomore yearis a little vague but,never theless,noteworthy Je sponsored the St Patrick's Day school party in honor of Lr Simpson's birthday and,of course,St Pat That year seven of our boys played their first game of football, and one bo made the first team in basketball We brought the year to a grand close with the sum total of S18 in the treasury Don't ask me how' Our year of glory came when we were Juniors Of courselike allother Junior classes, our treasury was either down to our last penny or overdrawn The prospect of promsand banquets looked bad for us and the senior class The magazine contests saved us from disgrace, and we finished the year with more money than any other Junlors in a very long time Our Christmas dance was quite a success, thanks to the girls and their fathers' In larch we presented our first play entitled UNew Fires,H under the di rection of Miss Louise Ogilvie It wasn't long then until commencement, when we had our chance to prove to tue seniorsthatme were capable of coming through for them The banquet, presented at tne Lasonic Hall, was beautlful, and the prom wonderful' Thus on the night of May 18 we bade the seniors adieu This year we came backto CHS Wlth a small lump in our throats because the class of '45 wouldn't be here Now it is becoming bigger as we are nearing the time of our departure T didn't make us feel too good to know that we had to be the real HC0Ck of the walkn this year, but we've done our best NIUE of our boys have lettered infootball and three in basketball for the last two years Je have put our heart into this annual, and there are st1ll a few activities ahead of us, parties, a play, and then the graduation exercises Ne shall leave our school with sincere regret 6:5 oosv 5554500 f 'O' gov Q ewzz, ws fe-f 3041? qi ' H 15 212. ......................
