EAST BANK BEATS CATHOLIC 78-65 A bad first period led to the Irish de- feat at East Bank. T he Irish were paced by Burke and Williams with 19 points apiece. CATHOLIC WINS Irish downed fast moving game, CATHOLIC LOSES 78-76 THRILLER TO MONTGOMERY In the first game of a busy week, the Irish were n o s ed out by the Greyhounds 78-76. Barna topped the scoring with 32 points. CATHOLIC ROMPS WASHINGTON DISTRICT 109-92 Catholic romped the Tigers to become the second team in K.V.C. to reachthe cen- tury mark this year. CHARLESTON TRIPS CATHOLIC 85-55 Irish lost to Charleston High. Kenny Williams, lanky center, played an outstand- ing game, but was unable to overcome the Mountain Lions' balanced attack. RIVAL ST. .IOE'S EDGES CATHOLIC 72-67 C.C.H.S. traveled to Huntington only to lose in a close game to St. Joe Irish 72-67. Captain Paul Barna racked up 35 points for the local Irish. CATHOLIC DEFEATS ELKHERD 75-65 Irish got by Elkherd 75-65 on the latter's home court. Barna was high with 21, followed by Vince Scales with I4. CATHOLIC TROUNCES MONTGOMERY 94-70 Homestanding Irish won their third game of the year 94 to 70 against a taller Greyhound team. Foul shots played an important part in this game, asfour of the Irish starters hit in double figures.
