To the Class of Sixty-Two To each of you, as you approach your graduation, best wishes. Twenty-five years ago this June, at the end of my first year of teaching, a man I respected very much gave me a card on which a few lines were printed. I have kept it where I could read it often. The words mean a great deal to me. I give them to you in the hope that you may discover in them, a guide for you in the future. Henry Van Dyke wrote them. Four things a man must learn to do If he would keep his record true; To think without confusion clearly; To love his fellow-men sincerely; To act from honest motives purely.
