TO the CLASS of 1962 CONGRATULATIONS! In the future as in the past you will be presented and confronted with certain choices and decisions. When the time arrives for you to decide; it is my sincere hope that you will call upon your faculties, convictions, and divine guidance in arriving at a solution. If you do this, then you have arrived and your contribution to society will be great. Donald W. Coates E du colt on BOARD OF EDUCATION Clifford Crego — President Roy Misner William Crego E. Winston Baker Russell Lucy Cecil Reeves Grant Furbush Robert Bitz TO THE CLASS OF 1962, GREETINGS! In this age of automation, of nuclear power, of space travel, one s need to possess academic knowledge is unquestioned. As one examines the simplest modern mechanical device he marvels at its many intricate and interdependent parts which cause it to function properly. However, as one studies the past, examines the present, and contemplates the future he must realize that, regardless of the fan- tastic nature of any of his creations, he has never been able to, nor can he ever plan to, create any device to replace the human mind. It behooves each one of us, then, in his professional, community and family life to train himself to observe clearly, to weigh carefully and to judge accurately the critical issues constantly confronting him. Thus, with guidance from the Great Architect of the universe, man s creations may be directed into paths which lead to betterment of human environment and understanding. Good luck to each of you as you face the challenging future. Theodore Durgee
