Dear Readers: When it came time last spring for the Lyre Staff to decide on the theme for our yearbook, we realized what a yearbook must be. It must be a tribute to our school and a reminder of our senior year in particular. With this in mind, we chose as our theme Scenes Around School. Scenes around school can be any number of things: the mad rush be- tween classes, the underclassmen sitting in the lower halls during lunch, or the sports event we barely won. Some of these things our artists and editors have tried to capture for us to look back on in the years to come. We of the Lyre Staff are proud of this book, for it is a memory in itself. We wish to thank the faculty, the administration, and our parents, for helping us to accomplish what we like to consider the first adult job of the class, 1961. To these people and to all our readers, we proudly present our yearbook, the Lyre of 1961. Sincerely, Lawrence E. Graff Editor
