LEONARD JENNE Jenny Whistle while you work! And that's just what he does. Jenny is an airplane enthusiast and spends most of his time coliecting pictures of airplanes. He plays hockey and baseball and has dreams of being an aeronautical engineer. 52Qcfn,afu0g7lZW1effvQ' ESTEL KALAR EsteI Another one of our redheads, Estel belongs to the Kappa The- ta Rho. She keeps fit by hiking, bowling, and bicycling. Her fav- orite pastimes are sewing and carpentry. We wonder if she makes all of those peat clothes. :pf MAMA'- JOHN KLASMIER Buck He hath the power to make one laugh. The gas rationing has slowed up his car trading so he spends his spare time doing everything but homework. He's president of Hi-Y and he sings in the Glee Club. He'll be work- ing for his Uncle Sam after he graduates. RICHARD H ILL Dick Dick, one of those quiet sen- iors you don't hear much about. He has done outstanding work on several senior committees and was a student of the danc- ing class. From his height of six feet he looked down on most of us seniors. ALBERTA HUDSON Bert Bert should be a good house- keeper after taking home ec. for four years from Mrs. Mc- Naughton. She is the first girl who was able to make the verti- cal hang in the senior physical fitness class. VIRGINIA HOLLAND Ginny Ginny can usually be seen around the office typing her head off or turning out those history outlines while at noon dancing she amazes us all with her clever jitterbug routines. Ginny was cheerleader last year, she sings in the Glee Club, and isflichifiingii the Kiangles. PAUL HUNTINGTON Tiny Many wonder how Paul got the name, Tiny lHe's any- thing but tiny!! He plays bas- ketball, baseball, and football, and loves to sleep. Paul is plan- ning on entering Cornell, that is if the army doesn't hit him first. W like ALFRED JOHNSON Johnny Tall, blonde and quiet, John- ny belongs to the orchestra, Journalism and Sea Scouts. He plays hockey and interclass bas- ketball. Even with all these ac- tivities Johnny is outstanding in all his studies and finds time to hunt. He will enter college in the summer. CAROLYN KING Mae Mae is the gal with the knack for arguing. She can also tickle the ivories and frequently pops out in one of those new sweat- ers that she knits. We're all sure that Mae will fulfill her one ambition of being a nurse. HELEN KRAMER Peggy Here is a living answer to the question ls there such a thing as a quiet woman? Yes, in- deed, Helen is undoubtedly a blessing to mankind. Imagine being able to talk with a wom- an. Peggy saves her wind for the clarinet and belongs to the Kappa Theta Rho, She qlgo bowls and plays volleyball. QQZL, ffeoai-nv!!

She is co-editor of the Crimson and White, Secretary of the Sub-Debs, a member of the Journalism Club, and she plays volleyball. Suzy-Q ought to make someone a good secre- tary. l L , Jfl punasv FLATT squeaky , , mi' lpl' Who says minister's daugh- jf H ters are dull? Squeaky isn't. Au- ,ll drey belongs to Tri-Y, was in Glee Club, is Co-editor of the Academy Mess and is an ar- dent French student. No won- der, she wants to teach French. JANICE FULMER FulIer Here is an unusual girl, in that she is original. Yes, she's one of the more popular seniors and holds her own in Tri-Y and Mariners. She is feature editor of the Academy Messenger, an alto in Glee Club, an a captain of one of the girls' basketball teams. BARBARA DRAKE Drakie Kindness and understanding are rewarded by many friends. Besides gaining a horde of friends, Drakie's dragged-down the honors in several prize- speaking contests, was Editor- in-chief of the Academy Mes- senger, and now is Co-editor of the Lyre. After graduation she will enter nurses' training. TH ELMA FOSTER Thelma Thelma comes from around Lysander on the bus every day. She can usually be seen in the library as she is one of Miss Stierley's most valuable helpers. lt's no wonder that she hopes to be a librarian. ROBERT GATES Casey He'd glide 'cross the floor with the girl he adored. Bob must express himself with his feet, for he never says anything unless he has to. He's treasurer of the senior class, president of Journalism, secretary of Hi-Y, sings in Glee Club, and plays football. HILLIS J. HAY Hillie Here is 270 pounds of good nature. You bet he is. He must be to take all the kidding that he has during his four years in high school. A whizz in history, and a lover of planes, Hillie is planning on enrolling in an avi- ation mechanic school. ,KR , MARTHA GALLA R a ga hat Martha. EDWARD GOLLANDS Ed And when he smiled he re- vealed his whole personality. The guy with the million dollar smile, Ed is vice-president of the Hi-Y and plays on our base- ball, football and hockey teams. He was also trusted to handle the senior class money for the first term. Say . . . l ANDREW HENDERSON uAndYu Andy is quite the movie fan. He sees practically every movie that comes to town. BARBARA MEAKER Red Red hair and freckles, cute and full of life. She has served faithfully on several committees including the pencil committee which raised the level of our treasury. Barb plays the clari- net, plays on the senior girls' volleyball team, and is assistant personal editor of the Lyre. FREDERICA MONTAGUE nPe'e1l To tell about her would fill three volumes. She's short, cute and full of pep. Here are some of the activities in which Pete has taken part: Sub Debs, Tri- angles, Glee Club, Orchestra, girls' basketball, Mariner Scouts and Cheerleading. She ought to make a wonderful gym teacher. PAUL O'BRlEN O.B. O.B. is that dark good-look- ing fellow around B.H.S. who you are sure to see when he is in school. But most frequently he is seen in his merry auto- mobile. l fwfmffg-if ZORA MELOLING Zora Another quiet senior lsay? haven't we a lot of thesell She plays on the senior girls' volley- ball team and she can put a good fight for us seniors, too! She loves to embroider and is clever with a drawing pencil. GEORGE O'BRlEN O.B. Tall and good looking George plays the trumpet and sings in the Glee Club. He was vice- president of both the senior class and of the Hi-Y. O.B. is a star on our football, basketball and hockey teams. For enjoy- ment and recreation, he choses swimming. r Wfffffffwfw BRUCE PEDERSON Pete Here is one of our junior class presidents. One of the best known seniors, Pete plays on our varsity basketball team and is a Sea Scout. He hopes to join the Merchant Marine after gradua- tion. GEORGE POWELL Junior Junior was voted Vice-Presi- dent of the senior class for the second term. He plays basket- ball, softball and spends o great amount of time swimming in the summer. George belongs to the Sea Scouts and also the Boy Scouts. He intends to join the Navy next fall. GEORGIAN NA PATCHETT llpoell Georgianna is one of the 'jol- liest' girls in B.H.S. Small and dark she plays the accordion, sings in the Glee Club, was Co- Editor of Crimson and White, and President of the Senior Girl Scouts in Lysander. He's one of those charac- ters that are unpredictable but likeable. Soupy likes Math and can swing a mean bat on the baseball diamond. JAMES F. REEVES, Jr. Jimmy l love the life I lead. He was the Editor-in-chief of the Crimson and White, and now is Sports Editor of the Academy Mess. He plays on our senior interclass basketball team, and in the barnyard league.
