Yet out of school's life into Iife's school we go pausing only for a moment at the turning of life's record, that moment filled with joy and sorrow. anticipation and regret, a pause at the threshold of a new portion of life to look backward with mingled feelings on our past four years. Thus we feel as if we were rising slightly above the common plane of humanity, standing upon an eminence a class above all others. But it is almost im- possible to record all the noble deeds and achievements of this distinguished body. We were a verdant bunch during those first few days of high school life but blissfully unconscious of that fact until later events and still later meditation made this clear to our unsophisticated minds. Nevertheless, soon overcoming this characteristic, we blossomed out thus establishing a custom that since has been preserved-that of organizing the freshman class. lt had never been done before but because of this act we leave another of our mementos to the school. Jack Klasmier was our first presi- dent. Perhaps one of the most important events during the first year was Junior Prize Speaking which was won by Jack Klasmier and Florence Cox. Though comparatively inactive socially, we did manage to have several dances through Mr. Guerrera's help and guidance-namely the Sadie Haw- kin's Dance and St. Patrick's Day Dance. Our sophomore year slipped by quickly but yet we found time to organ- ize and again selected Mr. Klasmier as our head. Before we realized it we were leaving good old lO6 and parting-half of the noble body to lO4 and

Jones Prize Speaking Contest which was won by Florence Cox. As a class we took full responsibility of decorating the gym for commencement dancing as previous junior classes had done. Although our treasury was empty we planned the Victory Hop, which supplied us with more than ample funds for the decoration. lt might be noted that we were represented by several that year on the championship J-V Basketball team that added one more trophy to our school's large Collection. Now we are seniors and fully aware of the fact, for looking back we feel that we have not only been looked up to by the younger students in school but also have known the responsibility of making this an eventful and complete last year. I am sure that not one of us will forget that event- ful basketball game when trying to substitute the selling of chocolate milk for the much-wanted and yet unobtainable candy we found ourselves faced with the cleaning of a gym full of broken milk bottles, or the Christmas Ball, which we all helped to make worthwhile. No class has been more fortu- nate in any way than we in having Vincent Bassett as our president for both terms. He has been awonderful leader and help to every committee. Florence Cox received the American Legion Good Citizenship Pilgrimage Award. Instead of having a Turkey Trot or a Barnyard Brawl we had the Harvest Hop and Hill-Billy Shindig, which were both wonderful successes. Now that basketball is over we are looking forward to our Senior Play, What A Life, which cannot help but be another success, and also to the Senior Ball, Class Night and Commencement. The time has seemed so short yet we have a store of unforgetable memories to carry with us as we go out from the harbor into the sea of life to overcome the high and dashing waves and gain our glory which lies beyond
