ROE For those Who took the tour to Rome a life-time treat was found Waiting. Cur route followed the ancient Aurelian Way from Leghorn to Rome, built when the Roman conquerors marched to Gaul. In the city itself We visited many of the famous monu- ments and buildings but decided that it would take months to see all of the museums and interesting places in this, the center of the World in ancient times and still the center of Catholic Christianity. Christmas Day at the noon hour We stood at St. Peter's to receive the Pope's blessing. A few of the crew were present at a papal audience. The Colosseum, Pantheon, Catacombs, Vatican, these and many other sights became priceless memories to us. To many this Was the highlight of the cruise. The glory of Rome that Was - still is! I
