You can ' t make a career out of going to CMR. but what a place to start! Your ' re here only three years, but you learn more about yourself than you could dream possible. More about what you can do. More about what you can give and what you can take. You might learn, for example, that you have a great, undiscovered, and perhaps unappreciated ability for doing things. Like solving equations. Or writing short stories. Or building engines. Or maybe even figuring distances between planets. Or you might discover that you have a talent for people. Communicating with them. Understanding them. Or maybe even leading rather than follow- ing them. There ' s no doubt about it. If you want to start doing something important, there ' s no better placd to start than Russell High School. As a CMR gradu- ate, you will leave having discovered your talents, your potential, and yourself. Now if that isn ' t fun, what is? ■1 P pj Srm ' •• r A KSb ' ' 4 r- ' L f -- . More than two hundred students were involved in all production phases of Rogers and Hammerstein ' s Carousel. Carousel, the touch- ing story of a rowdy carnival harder and his court- ship and unhappy marriage to a simple factory girl, was filled with excitement, humor, and sorrow — all made memorable in song and dance. Lee Briggs, as Billy Bigelow, and Kathy Sather, as Julie Jor- dan, played the two lead roles. Other performers included Karen Wraalstad, as Carrie, Sam Taylor, as Mr. Snowe, Cheryl Barnes as Nettie, Jeff John- son as Jigger, and Linda Ross as Mrs. Mullen. Among the many behind-the-scene workers were Clyde Lund, dramatics director; Richard Cole, orchestra; James Miller and Mary Moore, vocal; Ray Steele, technical; and Nancy Chapman, chore- ography. Anita Pamemter served as student direc- tor, Jacki Veseth as house manager, Mike Kohles as stage manager, and Guay Tippett as ticket chair- man. -T IMKi f 1 ■KsijH S| ' H 1 s A% . .
