Historical and legendary Texas is largely a products of cattle and cotton, but modern Texas is a product of oil and natural gas. Though the character of the state was developed on range, on ranch, and in the cotton fields, its wealth and cultural advancement have come chiefly from its black gold —oil that flows freely to the nations because Texas is the point of origin of the world's great- est pipeline system. 2 MID-TERM SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Louis Hess........................President Kenneth Kern..................Vice President Arthur Jackson.....................Secretary Jerry Ward.................Sergeant-at-Arms JUNE SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Wilmer Cox..........................President Bill Wagisbach.................Vice-President Shirley Roberts.....................Secretary Bennie Lefkowitz . . They are indoctrinated with Americanism and taught basic military subjects. The motto of the ROTC is Learn Today—Lead Tomorrow. This in itself is evidence of the high ideals of the organization. ROTC battalions throughout the nation are active and aggres- sive in every proper respect. ROTC is an asset to the community and commands the respect of both civilian and military leaders. It is a potent enemy of juvenile de- linquency: it is a builder of character. The officers and men of the ROTC are furthering a cause for the Cadet of today, the Officer of tomorrow. CAPTAIN D. J.
