The United States of Venezuela, as one of our South American neighbors, has had a history of bloody battles, uprisings and revolutions. Its longest period free from strife was from 1880 to 1892, twelve years, under Guzman Blanco. Due to these internal quarrels, which have kept it undeveloped, it has been a struggle to enforce education throughout the country. Since 1921, however, when a law was passed which made primary education free and compulsory, it has become more general. Now there are a number of schools and colleges established in this coun- try of beautiful cloud-topped moun- tains and the future for an enlight- ened people is bright. GRADUATES OF ’41
