To these brave boys and girls, we dedicate the I943 Bantam. lnevitably many of our classmates, who have not yet gone from their homes in defense of this Nation, will be doing so within the year. Because they are so near and dear to us, we especially wish them to share in this dedication. To all those who will be working at home during the next months and possibly years on projects which will be helping in innumerable ways on the many fronts of the world, we just as thoughtfully dedicate this book-our VICTORY Edition of the BANTAM. But to the students in general, the really great significance of this year has heen in the realization that the Nation is dependent on Youth to prepare itself in the secondary schools for its part in preserving lireedom for the peoples of the yvorld. We, this year, have dedicated ourselves to YICIURY through our many wartime activities, our whole-hearted participation in the Yictory Corps program. the very successful scrap drive, a yvar stamp drive, the pre-induction classes for hoys, a study of wartime nutrition hy the girls, fundamentals of shop for the girls, and military drill for hoth the boys and girls. Our theme, YlCTORY, will serve not only as an inspiration but also as a challenge to all of us to put forth even greater effort toward this goal. ll ' Milfs
