Becker, B.S., M.A. A graduate of N.Y.l'., where she received both degrees, she is a math teacher and also business adviser of the Gorton News. Sara Yancy Belknap, A.B., B.S., M.A., M.S. Gorton's librarian and sponsor of the llook Se- lection Club. She attended the Rollins College, Yale School of Music and Columbia University. Sidney B. Birnbach, B.S., M.A., ED.D. Obtained his Doctor of liducation Degree in New York liniversity. Doc, Gorton health teacher, is sponsor of the liirst Aid Club and in charge of Civil Defense for Gorton, in addition to being biisi- ness manager of the Promenade. Gertrude E. Braslow, A.B., M.A. One of Gorton's history teachers. She is the original sponsor of the Girls' Golf Club and is in charge of the archives of Gorton. James S. Cavanaugh, A.B., M.S. Gorton's Guidance Counselor and Assistant Principal. He graduated from St. Bonaventure Col- lege and l-'ordham University. Lydia O. Cawein, A.B., M.A. Gorton's Guidance Counselor, she is a graduate of Hunter College and Fordham Cniversity. Madeleine F. Clarke, B.S., M.A. ls girls' physical education teacher at Gorton and sponsor of the Girls' Archery Club, Riding Club and Girls' Leaders Club. Elsie M. Conner, B.A. Sponsor and coordinator of the Promenade, is Gorton's Art teacher. ln' addition, she conducts the Gorton Art Association, is sponsor of the Color Guard and is in charge of decorations for the stage. Lillian O.'B. Costello, A.B. Gortou's l.atin teacher. She graduated from College of New Rochelle and is sponsor of the Girls' Howling Club. Louis D'Ascoli, B.S., M.A. A graduate of both Fordham and Columbia, he is teacher of biology. A former graduate of Gorton High, he sponsors the Cross-Country and Golf Teams, the A.A. Service Club, and in addition is president of the Athletic Association. Benedict R. DeAngelo, B.S., M.A. Teacher of history and driver education, he at- tended the Cniversity of Illinois, Columbia Cniver- sity, Albany State Teachers College and N.Y.U. He is a member of the A.A. Council. Alfred DeNisco, B.S. A former Gorton student, he is a graduate of Manhattan and is now one of Gorton's lliology teachers and advertising manager of the Promenade.
