The two year courses in French and Latin offered at Owen not only give the student a working knowledge of the language itself, but also introduce him to the culture and customs of other countries. To Introduce PS SC Physics Tremendous amounts of interest are generated whenever a student opens one of the doors of science. Through Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, students gain an understanding of many of the technical complexities of life. From the simple amoeba to the study of intricate body functions, the anatomy of life is viewed by sophomore Biology students. Chemistry students become interested mainly in the “how” and “why” of nonliving things. Physics students begin the study of the relation¬ ships of heat, light, and force as they affect our everyday life. Orderly procedure usually leads to a successful experiment. can be tougher than it looks. 15

I “Repent!” “This senior English is really fun!” Faster, more accurate reading and concentrated studies of composition and literature were primary goals for this year’s English classes. While some students were battling with parts of speech, sentence structure, and vocabu¬ lary, others were delving into the study of novels, plays, poetry, essays, and other literature. Study in reading, writing, listening, and speaking was found to be the key to effective communication while developing keen insight in every student. “Man, Shakespeare must have been a real swinger!
