SOCIAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT In order to prepare each student for effect¬ ive participation in his civic responsibilities, the social studies teacher exposes him to the basic how, when, and why of the operation of govern¬ ment. Appreciation of the role of his country in world affairs is developed by giving him a work¬ able knowledge of world geography and history.
