We slow to a stop in September, 1955, High School at last - - didn ' t we feel big!! However, times were not as easy as we thought they would be, but Mr. Robert Hutchinson, our eighth grade homeroom teacher, and Mr. A. M. Bruce, our principal saw us safely through the year. Sandra Marshall, and Virginia Waldrop joined our class this year. Our next pause is at the door of Mr. Alexanders room in 1956. What an exciting year this one was! The Freshmen were everywhere, in clubs, sports, name any activity and we were there. A new teacher, Mrs. Mountcastle joined our facutly the year 1957. We as Sophomores were honored to have her as our homeroom teacher. With her assistance and the help of others, we had a delightful trip to Washington D. C. in the spring of 1957. Once again we began to move. This time it only gives us time to catch our breath before we glimpse ourselves in Mrs. Marguerite Richardson homeroom working on plans for the big event - the Senior-Junior Trip. With the help of our new principal, who joined us this year, Mr. J. D. Smith, and many others working ha rd together, we had a very success¬ ful trip to Miami, Florida. We are nearly up-to-date now, as our trip comes to a rest on September, 1959. Here we are: Ethel Browning, Edward Darlington, Marilynn Hunt, Doris Jackson, Sandra Marshall, Barbara Tench and Nancy Jean Wray dignified Seniors. It hardly seems possible. To keep the class run¬ ning smoothly we elected Marilynn Hunt, president; Edward Darlington, vice-president; Doris Jackson, secretary; Sandra Marshall, treasure. Never before had we so much to do. Through the wonderful help of Mrs. Marguerite Richardson, our advisor, we readied ourselves for that all important step in our life - graduation. June, 1959, our round trip is completed as we prepare to face the future. After graduation we shall go our separate ways but hope to return many times to our CHARLES CITIAN. We shall always be indebted to our wonderful parents and teachers who have made our education possible and to our fellow students who have stood by us in our trials.
