From the Acting Superintendent MR. EDWIN F. LUSE Greetings - Class of 1959: As the time draws near when you will have achieved your first major ambition in life-that of high school graduation -no doubt there are many things to occupy your thoughts. You have managed well so far, and richly deserve the con- gratulations of your parents, teachers and friends. But now what? This brings you to a mighty big decision which must be made. Will you continue your education or enter some field of employment? ln most cases the die is cast, so to speak. We who have worked with you as your teachers can only express the wish that you have chosen wisely. Television is a new and marvelous gadget that has be- come a real part of today's living. The natural laws which control its operation have existed for centuries, and during this time, no doubt, many have sought to discover these laws but failed-until recently. Progress always consists of succeeding where before others have failed. It is this hope of possible new things for the future which should spur us on to seek new achievements. Life has changed more in the last fifty years than in the centuries preceding. It is entirely likely the next fifty years will see an even greater change. Does it excite your aspirations to know that you can be a part of this changing world? Congratulations, members of the Class of 1959! But more important, may you succeed where others have failed!
