Twenty lfLl92l iIfLIf8l'LC!8lfLf fi Wefffldfge In keeping with the theme of your 1955 Cougar Memoir, which is being presented as a horoscope, I would risk this message to you upon your pend- ing graduation. A horoscope is a chart, showing the relative positions of the stars, used by asrrologers in making predictions. We both may be very intimately concerned with our own horoscope- Mr. W. H. Clipman, Jr. you, because you are just beginning your career, I, because I am just closing my career. ln your case, the relative positions of the stars are most favorable to you in pros- pect of long, challenging, useful, and happy lives ahead. The Balance Sheet for a Graduating Class, which I recently placed in your hand, tells you just what I mean. In my case, the relative positions of the stars are just as favorable, but largely in retrospect. My career as an Educator is soon to end. It has been an experience of thirty-five years, all spent in Charleroi, and giving me a great deal of opportunity to balance my account. I can only hope that you, and others, who may evaluate it and weigh it in the balance, shall not find it wanting too much.
