First, we direct that any just debts and liabilities incurred during our stay at tbgxhigh school t:eesur'yXXofthe time of our departure. We direct that all privileges and duties we enjoyed while Seniors, be left to the Juniors, and direct them to bear them as honorably as we, in order to set a good example for the underclassmen. Susan leaves her driver's license to anyone who will take it off her hands for her own good. Donald leaves his bicycle to Miss Mackler to use when her father needs the car. Betty leaves her quick temper to Theresa so she may better cope with Carlo Steve leaves his happy-go-lucky attitude to Arm. Worry never got anyone anywhere, Ann. Ruby leaves her quiet ways to Nancy Stafford. Little girls should be seen and not heard, Nan. The Seniors leave their willingness to get along with each other to the Juniors. Here 's to quieter class meetings in the future. Harold leaves his ability to get along with Miss Mackler to Johnny Peters: this may save you a few after-school sesions, John. Bobby leaves his roving eye to Bobby Hicks. There's more than one fish in the sea, Bobby. Susan leaves her giggle to.Winston. LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT QContinuedJ Harold leaves his middle name to anyone who doesn't have one now, but thinks that a poor one is better than none at all. Donny leaves his ability at sports to Jimmy Bissland. Think of all the practice this will save you, Jimmy. Each Senior leaves a parking space to some Junior worthy of such hal- lowed ground. Ruby leaves her cute lisp to Joyce. Steve leaves his appetite to Arlene. He says he doesn't want it now -that he has to support himself. The Senior Class leave their advisor, Mr. Tilley, to the lucky Fresh- men. Betty leaves her ability to think up excuses for unprepared homework to Martha. Bobby leaves his ability to influence people to Walter Palmer. Now you can make those teachers believe anything, Walt. Harold leaves his careful driving and motto of safety-first to Billy Streeter. Steve leaves his agility to anyone interested in taking up ballet. Could this be you, Jimmy? Susan leaves one large eraser to any student who will admit he makes mistakes. Bobby leaves a pair of levis to anyone who doesn't mind sitting on brass rivets all day. The Seniors leave their best wishes to all the underclassmen, and hope that the new school will serve as an inspiration to them in con- tinuing their education. Q pzapkclf During the next ten uncertain years in the lives of the Seniors of 1954, we predict that the following will take place: Stephen, after sewing his hitch in the armed services, will take over and expand his father's lumbering business. Ruby will work her way up to a secretarial position in a large eastern manufacturing company's head office, and will be combining her career with her duties as a housewife. Having spent four years in the Air Force, Bob will decide to make flying his career, and will have landed a pilot's position for a New England air line. Betty will have joined the Air Force also, and will eagerly accept a job as stewardess when discharged. She plans to see the world be- fore she settles down for good. Harold will be operating his own fann in the area, and in his spare time will fulfill his duties as conservation master for Westem Massa- chusetts. Susan will have changed her mind about entering the medical pro- fession, and will be operating a local dude ranch. Donny will become construction engineer connected with a large contracting company in the state, and will continue with his interests in hunting and fishing. The Seniors will celebrate the Tenth anniversary of their graduation from Charlemont High with a reunion, and plan to meet again ten years later with hopes that all will again be present. Harold T. White, Jr. law qfddafzq September, 1950. As we assembled for our first day at Charlemont High, the class of 1954 found themselves the sole occupants of the first four rows of seats in the main room. These twenty seats were taken over by Richard Trues- dell, Evelyn Gerry, Teddy Murray, John Albee, Paul Cetto, Norman Hicks, Harold Burt, Gilbert Lamore, Ruby Baxter, Donald Wilbur, Rose Burdick, Ro- bert Rice, Susan Murray, Robert Slanec, Harold White, Dorothy Lamore, George Breen, Betty Slaunwhite, Jimmie Breen, and Annie Rathbum. The Seniors welcomed us and Mr. Wright, our advisor, with an initiation party. We elected -Rose Burdick as Presidents Bob Rice, Vice President: Evelyn Gerry, Secretary: and Donald Wilbur, Treasurer. With dreams of a future class trip, we began our fund-raising activities by selling Christmas cards, sponsoring a Spring dance, and participating in 'Stunt Nite' with a one act play, Ten Percent Tommy. September, 1951. With the loss of Evelyn Gerry, Annie Rathbum, Paul Cetto, Gilbert Lamore, Harold Burt, Norman Hicks, Bobby Slanec, and George Breen from our ranks, we find, as Sophomores, that we fill but three rows of desks in the main room. Lou Daby and Merle'PecorAj'oined us during the year and Ruby Baxter and John Albee dropped out during December. Mr. Wright re- mained as our Advisor, and class officers for the year were: President, Harold White: Vice President, Robert Rice: Treasurer, Donald Wilbur: and Secretary, Rose Burdick and Ruby Baxter. We put on our annual school dance, sold re- freshments at basketball and baseball games, and participated in the 'Show- boat Minstrel. September, 1952. Those who failed to answer the roll call as we assembl- ed for our Junior year were Richard Truesdell, Jimmie Breen, and Teddy Murray. Ruby rejoined us, and we found that our class filled two rows of Main room desks. Mr. Wright was replaced as our Advisor by Miss Hughes and we elected the following class officers. Donald Wilbur, President: Harold White, Vice President: Susan Murray, Secretary: and Rose Burdick, Treasurer. Our fund-raising activities during the year were the Leap-Year Dance and the Magazine Drive. In the spring we sponsored the annual Junior Prom for the benefit of the Seniors. Q September, 1953. This year we missed Rose Burdick, Dorothy Lamore, and Lou Daby, as well as our Advisor, Miss Hughes.. Mr. Tilley took over as out Advisor and class officers elected were: Robert Rice, Presidents Harold White, Vice President: Ruby Baxter, Secretary: and Susan Murray, Treasurer. With our class trip just around the comer, we conducted two paper drives, and sponsored a dance. With the generous help of the underclassmen, we put on a successful ,ass la , .
