Several new teaching techniques were used in Fundamentals of Nursing. First of all, a new lec¬ ture on student responsibilities and study techniques was added. As a new experience in commu¬ nication, tapes were used in which new material was presented on improving communication tech¬ niques and building therapeutic relationships. Also for the first time, material was presented on meeting the rest and sleep needs of the patient. New material on topical applica¬ tion of drugs eye, ear and nose drops was studied. Also new con¬ cept media filmstrips entitled Psychological Aspects of Cancer were viewed. A further new learning experience focused around a lawyer ' s lecture on the legal aspects of nursing.
