Matters Of Importance Brought To Director The Director of Charity Hospital School of Nursing, Sister Blanche McDonnell, continued to spend much of her time overseeing the completion of the school ' s new educational building. In addition to her administrative duties at the School of Nursing, Sister Blanche served in other positions of impor¬ tance including President of South Louisiana League for Nursing; Pre- ident of the governing board of DePaul Hospital; and 1st Vice-Pres¬ ident of the Louisiana State Nurses ' Association.

Under the leadership of Charity Hospital director, Dr. Charles Mary, Jr., and the Charity Hos¬ pital Board of Administrators, the hospital underwent many changes during the past year. Much of the hospital has been painted and air- conditioned. Included in the new supplies and equiptment purchased for the hospital are new wheelchairs, many disposable items including disposable baby formulas, hydrolic lifts in all areas, mobile emergen¬ cy carts in all areas, and ice machines. New areas in the hos¬ pital include a four bed respiratory intensive care unit, a coronary care unit, and a pediatric emergency admit room.
