CAPS AND CAPES CHARITY HOSPITAL SCHOOL OF NURSING Affiliated with Louisiana State University Beryl Iles Burns, M.D. Dean, Louisiana State University School of Medicine AFFILIATION WITH LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY The Charity Hospital School of Nursing is affiliated with Louisiana State University and offers two courses in nursing: (1) the three-year hospital nursing course leading to the diploma from the Charity Hospital School of Nursing; and (2) the five-year combined academic and basic professional course, con¬ sisting of two years of college work at Lou¬ isiana State University followed by three years of professional study in nursing at Charity Hospital. This course leads to the Bachelor of Science Degree from Louisiana State University and the diploma from the Charity Hospital School of Nursing. The University also offers to graduate nurses ad¬ vanced courses in Nursing Education which lead to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nurs¬ ing Education.
