Education Englirh III Remedial Englirh FOREIGN LANGUAGE Foreign language is a must today in our rela- tions abroad and helps us to understand our foreign peoples - their customs and their habits. Through the language study we are given an insight into their being-their ideas of literature, song-their knowledge of others and themselves. Foreign language stimulates and promotes in- terest in business life as well as in the professional life and broadens one's understanding of the world. And with the modern world in such close communi- cation today by means of air travel and modern wireless, the world is ever more in dire need of foreign language PHYSICAL EDUCATION The physical education and athletic departments provide well balanced experiences that stimulate growth and development of appropriate social and psychological outcomes as well as physical attributes and neuromuscular skills. They are an integral part of the total educational effort of the school.

KENNETH LAMPMAN American Hirtory SOCIAL STUDIES The social studies are the subjects in our high school experience devoted to the study of our so- ciety fsociologyj institutions Cgovernmentb ac- complishments and problems fhistory, economics, and geographyj, comprising the background ne- cessary to the understanding and appreciation of American life. SCIENCE The Science Department offers four units to- ward graduation requirements. The subjects are General Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. General Science is required of all ninth grade students. This subject includes units from a large number of fields such as weather, conservation, ma- chines, electricity, health and many others. Biology is an elective subject. It covers units from specialized fields Which include Botany, Zoology, Anatomy, Physiology, Natural History and Path- ology. Chemistry is elective for juniors and Seniors. This science deals with the study of composition of matter and the changes it undergoes. Physics deals with matter and energy and the physical changes in matter. Major units of this sub- ject concern mechanics, heat, sound, light. electricity, and nucleonics. I iv MRS. GLEE CLUB The Senior High Glee Club, composed of 100 members, is a voluntary organization in which membership may be secured by the completion of a vocal try-out. The group annually presents a Christ- mas Concert, an operetta, and participates in the Geauga County Vocal Festival.
