LATER: Big Chief, little chief, Indian Squaw, Who in the ... Man, the stands were packed tonight. Man, I don't see how the band does it week after week. My little sister's got a crush on Dean Brown. Her heart skips a beat everytime he beats that drum. I really felt good. You should have seen Bennie run! Our whole team was ready. Dy-no-mite! The game was great! Most everyone seemed to be giving more of themselves tonight. I yelled till I was red in the face. It was like there was this steady, sure tune working in everybody; players, cheerleaders, blacks, whites, young, old. There was this harmony thing-Chapman was together. Makes you feel great. October 9, 1975. . . The Year of the Panther . .. The Year of Pie! ... Splat! Man . . . what a pep rally ... I mean it was really good for a change. We actually had SPIRIT. I can't believe it last week Mr. Miller got the pie in the face-today was Walkowicz' turn. SMACK-1 mean Jon creamed him! You gotta hand it to Mr. Miller and Mr. Walk- owicz, that took guts! I wonder who's going to get it next. The spirit's alot better this year. Everything's a little bet- ter around school. Of course some of the same people a- round here wouldn't look ex- cited if a Mack truck ran over their big toe and maybe even their whole foot. Oh well! I’m going to the game tonight. ■Mil 10 Theme

it to a pig. But the main rea- son I regretted this class was the fact that lunch was next. December 19, 1975 . . . Made it to Christmas va- cation. School was kind of fun today. I mean everybody felt good. Not just cause we were getting out although I need a rest. It's just that Christmas makes you want to care about someone else, makes you want to show you love them, makes you want to believe this old world has some hope. You know I don’t even care if I get anything this year. Just to be with my family, (even my sister), go to church for the candle lighting and then sit back and share the warmness everyone has - Life's not all bad . . . I’ve been doing some thinking about God, lately, Jesus-Baby, Man, Savior. I think He's real. He cares. Way deep down inside I have a peace. November 12, 1975 . . . My homeroom teacher asked how many people were eating lunch, and only three said they were. Huh! I know better, cause hamburgers were on the menu. At lunch I saw some freshmen lined up as far as Mrs. Culbreth's room. I pity underclassmen. I remember the hassle in years past, but I think it’s worse this year. Those fresh- men take alot. When I was a freshman somebody told me they put exlax in the chocolate pudding. Dumb me ... I be- lieved it. Course now, I still wonder with my erudite (learned that word in Miss Smith's class-English II) mind- how in the heck do they get vitamin C in cream po- tatoes? They must squeeze oranges in them or something. Yesterday, it killed me won- dering what shepard's pie was. It turned out to be pretty good though. December 4, 1975 . . . The day was supposed to be great. My horiscope read, Today is a time to do some- thing you've wanted to do for a long time”. I decided the something” I've wanted to do for a long time was NOT do my classwork. I figured I'd just listen today. First period was annual class. It was hec- tic. Susan couldn't find the cropping ruler. Mike was cracking jokes and trying to think up some dumb things for copy. Kathy couldn't figure out where her film was. Everyone was screaming Ms. Smith! Ms. Smith . . . and she was pulling her hair out. Why does anyone ever want to be a teacher?! I just sat and watched the whole mess. Second period I went to Typing I. It was really ironic (Picked that word up with McClain-English III!) how much trouble everyone was having. How do you curve your fingers over these keys? How come I always hit an '8' Caps are impossible! I cheat and look at my hands. This one guy today just sat through most of the class stunned. I think he's either gping to drop this class or break down and cry. One speedster typed 40 words a minute with only 39 mistakes. And would you believe since I goofed around during class, she takes the papers up? Typ- ing's for girls anyway! I know, I know. I'm a male chauvinist -What’s it to you? In chemistry, as soon as the bell rang Mrs. Cooper asked to name the first 45 chemical formula's that came to mind. I told her everything I knew. C-carbon, H-Hydro- gen, and Z-Zinc . I had to go down the alphabet to get them. Then we started talk of the fetal pig. She asked the class what fetal meant. Answer- It's a hog that didn't make 12 Theme
