REVEREND PATRICK J. HOLLORAN, S.J President of Chaplain Kapaun Memorial High School f'll.Xl'l..XlN li.xl'.xl'N NIIINICIHIAI, I... ...-.., h..,.. -. ,. .,.. , .,. tt.. .mf v v In nts a. June 1, 1957 The Class of 1957. P.C. To the members of the Graduating Class, the first group of young men to receive the diploma of the Chaplain Kapaun Memorial I should like to address a twofold word. This word is from the entire Faculty as well as from myself, and it is most sincere. We wish to tell you, the members of the first class to leave this Jesuit school, that we have many reasons to be happy and justifiably proud that you possess the first in what will be a long line of Kapaun diplomas. You came to this new institution when a great many elements of the physical plant were incomplete: y:u came possessing a varied and, at times, confusing education- al background: you entered an atmosphere that was very new to all of you, and you were confronted with demands which previous- ly you never dreamed existed. Through it all you have shown yourselves to be equal to the task set before you. For a magnificent spirit of tractibility and cooperation you are deserving of unqualified praise: praise coupled with gratitude. Particularly is a word of sincere and heartfelt thanks due to the Class of 1957 for the splendid ex- ample given to the younger boys at the school during those days of the year that were more important than all the others, - the days of the annual retreat. Our second word is one that is joined with a prayer. It is a word that desires to express our sincere hope that every bless ing and success will attend your days of future education and mature endeavor in the independent career which each of you must carve for himself in the world of labor, or business, or the professions, or the Kingdom of God as it :ust be built here on earth. we hope that you realize that the tens Alma Hater has a very definite meaning. A 'loving mother always welcomes back a son with joy in her heart: she is gratified beyond expression upon learnlng of his success and the blessings that have cons his way: her greatest consolation is the ability to still be of some service tc him. But she also has a heart that can be saddened. Thi! God may ever love and bless you all is the prayer of the Faculty of a school named for a man whom God must have loved with a very special love. his 1. Hoops? ff
