MARY ANN DERRICK Second Runner-Up BARBARA WESSINGER Queen PAULA EARG LE First Runner - Up flomcwming I 965 BARBARA WESSINGER 1965 Chapin Homecoming Queen November 5, 1965, a cool brisk night that was perfect in every respect, saw the return of many Chapin alumni to their Alma Mater. The Homecoming Game was the finale for ten sen- ior athletes who had given their best to ath- letics at Chapin High and were closing out brilliant careers as gridiron Eagles. Pre-game ceremonies presented the lovely sponsors atop convertibles as Allen Rollins recognized each and welcomed the fans. The festive atmosphere was evident as the Chapin-Buford Game got under way. Jimmy Deaton put the Eagles out front with two TDS in the first quarter and they went on to win the 1965 Homecoming Game by a 26-O score. Glenn Wessinger and Robbie Frick each added one TD. Principal J. B. Addy crowned Miss Barbara Wessinger as 1965 Homecoming Queen during halftime festivities. Barbara was elected by popular vote of the student body from the school sponsors. Paula Eargle was first runner- up and Mary Ann Derrick was second runner-up. A well-played game and a big victory completed the perfect night. fo'-1 'F sie? rl-,big 3 if E
