Here we have prepared ourselves for the game of life and as the years come to a close, we realize how dependent our lives are on the knowl- edge obtained within this building. We have passed through four years of academic instruction and extracurricular activities--years of great importance to our lives and our futures. We hesitate to think of leaving this building which has become so much a part of our lives, but time waits for no one and this serves only to make these years more precious to us. We are soon to close the doors on our high school years and confident- ly face the future which offers the great challenge of a changing world. NH Y . . at 'K -. The Homecoming Game was the finale for ten sen- ior athletes who had given their best to ath- letics at Chapin High and were closing out brilliant careers as gridiron Eagles. Pre-game ceremonies presented the lovely sponsors atop convertibles as Allen Rollins recognized each and welcomed the fans. The festive atmosphere was evident as the Chapin-Buford Game got under way. Jimmy Deaton put the Eagles out front with two TDS in the first quarter and they went on to win the 1965 Homecoming Game by a 26-O score. Glenn Wessinger and Robbie Frick each added one TD. Principal J. B. Addy crowned Miss Barbara Wessinger as 1965 Homecoming Queen during halftime festivities. Barbara was elected by popular vote of the student body from the school sponsors. Paula Eargle was first runner- up and Mary Ann Derrick was second runner-up. A well-played game and a big victory completed the perfect night. fo'-1 'F sie? rl-,big 3 if E QS L Aff? 1? As the familiar cycle of events begins for the last time, each Senior invariably experiences a conflict of emotions. The last Homecoming, School Carnival, Senior Play, Variety Night, the selection of Miss Chapin High, the Athletic Banquet, the end of the Foot- ball, Basketball, and Baseball Seasons, the final final--all these produce both a sensation of release and a twinge of regret. At last, graduation--the moment so long awaited--arrives, the walk down the aisle, a walk leaving behind forever the care-free days of high school and leading to the uncertain future that lies ahead. All past hopes, fears, and desires fade into the challenge of tomorrow as each senior experiences the transition from student to alumnus. With anticipation, eagerness, and doubt, each goes forward to assume his place in the world of maturity. i. GENE W. C haplain We, the Juniors, are on the threshold, at last, of becoming members of that elite group--the seniors. We have watched as each senior class graduated and wondered if our time would ever come. Our junior year has been a memorable one and we realize now that we wouldn't mind if we stayed a little longer. There was our Junior Play, the hi-light of the year, and the long hours of memorizing lines and practicing. But it was all worthwhile as we took the stage for the presentation and listened to the final applause. The junior year held a lot of studying, work- ing, and planning and we enjoyed every bit of it. But now, the joys of Jolly Juniors are behind us and we take on the responsibilities of seniors as we look forward to next year. fuuiar Cflass Lucy Mae Amick Linda Bickley June Boland Stanley Boland Derrill Cannon Dwight Cannon Roy Cannon, Jr. Rosemary Chapman Benny Counts Tony Cromer John Wesley Derrick Tommy Epting Phil Frick Randy Frick gl 'fflz ztk F mi 1 l 5 2-2:.5::ass: ',:.' -sfgw ,,-Qu: -vgggw .,,2-3 5, 3-- gxg55?Jz2fL?sigS-gim -2: M - we-5-W sxzgf F izrswwa 'A UE? fieilvfi M' 5?
