Look into the eyes of a baby child, what do you see Look into my eyes. sun-filled days and lollipop smiles get by in the world with your wits and your wiles. ‘ for even the snowman will melt by and by with no time left for the tears that you cry. time lost oh! how true the hour glass for looking at time is much like looking at the sand we cannot see each grain passing through to lost time, but can only see the resulting hill of grains. 45 46 a star shines tonight. far above the ruin and decay, it shines make a wish the mother tells the child, for sometimes even dreams can come true. and the child wishes for toys and candy. far away a young girl makes a wish and in the forlorn rooms of a resthome, an old woman sees the star and wishes. sometimes even dreams can come true the mother said, and far above, the star shines brightly, and then flickers out. the silence that separates us - feels warm sometimes, transmits a message of sorts, and conveys an inner beauty the silence that separates us - brings us together. 47 studying the tapestry on my jeans and all at once the telephone rings - on the other end a cry for help and a prayer for mercy the music roars in the background scene a person lost in a spaced dream a cause that seems as lost as man i give as much as i humanly can but to no avail - i sit and listen as a funeral dirge drums drearily through my head as the gray curse looms with dread about us all i watch the smoke curl up in never ending spirals to the sky, it has to be this way house of gladness house of sorrows house of nightmares and of no tomorrow ... 48 SAGES epee SR ERIREIIONE FO 8 ist BES. asieidith iu ecoammnaal ss sr anaemia sees 9 our place on the hill when the sun says goodnight the wind blows a paper across the dying grass of winter you can hear the faint bouncing of a lone basketball soon to be forgotten the normal people laugh at us and go home to their warm houses coffee or maybe hot chocolate but we prefer the wind the last fingers of the sun reaching towards us as if to say i love you a dead leaf blows past all brown and crinkley we know the trees are now without their green dancing dresses. i walk along the chrystal dawn don’t know why but i ramble on, sad and lonely, cold and hurt this day i only dream of yesterday dreams of memories passed away but, those never happened anyway forgotten in my lonely shell and i shail drift away - into loneliness 51 bright lights flashing neon signs all the forced gaity filling our minds tomorrow is coming so don’t stop and look, it will make you want. 52 Nia. hii iW Me eee 5 A: life is a rowboat floating you away an endless chain of thought in vain in measures of day by day can you relate to the fate of a sailor and find yourself drowned in the sea or earn your bread like the thread of a tailor the one that made you and me life is free, we need no paddles to row us home from the storm to the shore if freedom with you - then it really don’t matter to ask yourself what your living for - try to let no line define you or mark you of your bounds for the earth is a sea of industry and you’re what it turns around through life’s sweet loom and through her womb then your’re living. late night moves amidst the smoke, an old piano, an older joke, a can of beer, a bottle of gin, some may lose and some may win. a deck of cards, a cigarette, let’s remember before we forget 56 ERE [5 ALWAYS ONE Rime West THAT GETS AWAY.--. e ivities Cd act — Lee when reminiscing, details of events may fade but memories of people will remain sharp, for with them | Fae pe there was a common search for expression = sts nee and when the search intensified, | we strove together, enjoyed together, ue he fe Od and it began to mean more than just something for the record. 138 seniors, surprised that their drifting has brought them so far, with so much farther to go. there are still friends to be lost in the crowd, and friends to be found in between the losing. there are bargains to be made- with people, with ourselves, and with all of life. but bargains are not always cheap. and graduation, the goal we've made our way to, is not just farewells, or tears, or promises soon to be forgotten. it is just proof that there are other goals to reach, other places to go, and other lives to live. 139 senior class officers 140 nancy atwater dana andrews mac allen mel Kennedy 174 AT polp Ourry UNIVERSITY SQUARE 175 See this and more at Neal’ Cal S with a variety in the Wonderful world of Shoes BN canes It all began about 18 months ago, in and out of school. Some of the stars in the school, both athlethically and socially, got together and formed the Wolf Demon Club. For most of last year, the Club’s activities came on weekend parties and functions. This year, however, the club joined the school in various projects to bring about improvements. Our history is a short one, but we hope we have shown the community how to be helptul while having a good time. ’72 is our last school year together, but we all will remain friends. We leave many memories. W.D. Men ee yore bref 1 TRASHNITE BasniGHT 8. KYLREEM COSELL WOOTEN I4. GonzrLes MG FINCKE 2 WILD WILLIAM CULTON 4.CAPS RENTZEL ROGERS 15.
