Class History For a long t1me graduat1on has seemed l1ke a d1stant dream to us but now as wc stlugglc through our Sen1or year we real1ze that It w11l soon be a rea11ty We can look back on the years beh1nd us Wlth a sm11e lov1ng and remember1ng each one we have spent at Chapel H111 H1gh Our Freshman year w1ll we ever forget the exc1t1ng wonderful t1mes we had then9 F1r1al1y after e1ght long years the boys rea11zed there were glrls around them Remember those first tubes of 11pst1ck p1nk1sh orange Sm1tty L1neberger was presldent of the Student COUHC11 but most of the Freshman g1rls d1dn t pay any attent1on to h1s parlxamentary procedure they all had crushes on h1m We spent most of our first year 1n the basement of the Elementary School and the Cone House unt1l the late spr1ng when we moved 1nto our new bu1ld1ng Lat1n seemed to be the only trouble 1n our younger days On week ends we occupled the Teen age Club frant1ca11y 1earn1ng to dance Remembermg all th1s we hate to say good bye Our Sophomore year b1sect1ng frogs for B1ology ugh' It was a lot of fun Wllh Mr Longest 111 Phys Ed By now we were pretty set 1n our ways and we helped Student Counc11 Presldent Neal Cre1ghton keep the old school or rather new school well 1n order We were gett1ng to be b1g wheels on the ath1et1c teams and many of us were 1n the newly Ofganlzed Monogram Club We had a b1g Job to do 1n order to keep the Recreat1on Center open but we all Jo1ned 1n and made the paper dr1ves a success We had found out though that h1gh school wasn t just football games Remember1ng all thlS we hate to say good bye Our Jun1or year ah yes' Th1s was when we really d1d some work W1th the Jun1or Sentor Banquet and Dance our project we sold magaz1nes and flowers to help ralse money for the grand occaslon The theme was Heaven and St Peter must have really been proud of us B111 Bland headed the student body the Procon1va1 was a great success the Glee Club d1d a fine Job 1n Ra 1e1gh and our football team REMEMBER LAURINBURG' ' The Y Teen New Year s Ball went over Wlth a bang that year too and we do mean BANG' Remember1ng all th1s we hate to say good bye Our Sen1or year that s all Brother' We were 1ntroduced to Shakespeare How Art Thou? Our class r1ngs arr1ved and you ve never seen such stuck up human be1ngs 1n all your l1fe yes we were proud to be wearmg the emblem of fullfilled manhood The blasts of our long awa1ted band blared forth and we knew we had someth1ng to go along w1th our fine football squad The Iceberg T1n can was moved aS1dC and 1n 1ts place a football Held 1a1d out what more could we want?
