49 C.H.S. Students Attend Sun Youth Forum Schools from all over Southern Nevada sent students to the 21st annual Sun Youth Forum that was held December 2 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Chaparral sent forty-nine students that were divided and sent to various discussion groups to debate on the topics of The World, America, Crime, Cops and Courts, Readin', Ritin' and Rithmitic' CThe Three Ft'sJ, Teenagers Today, and Potpourri. Each topic was discussed by two groups of which one finalist wrote an article summarizing the discussion for the Las Vegas Sun. The finalist from the other group appeared on T.V. to summarize the discussion from his group. , Discussions were held from 9:00 to 11:45. At 11:45 the groups broke up to attend a luncheon given by the Las Vegas Sun. The menu consisted of sloppy joes, potato salad, pickles, a choice of beverages, and for desert, ice cream. At 1:00 the discus- sion groups reconvened to continue their talks. At the end of the group time a finalist was choosen from each group to summa- rize the group's discussion. mqgrqv A it 3 X-M . 1 Orange Field Is Cowboy Country The Dedication of Orange Field took place on Friday, November 12, 1976 at 7:15 p.m. The program consisted of music by both the Chaparral and the Woodbury Jr. High Marching Bands. Mr. Olsen gave the introduction and the colors were posted by the Chaparral N.J.Ft.O.T.C. under the direction of Commander William Shields. Dr. Thurman White, Associate Superintendent, gave the dedication address and Mr. Earl Evans, Jr., President of the Board of Trustees, had the honor of cutting the ribbon.
