Congratulations ChaparraI's First Graduating Class Starting way back years ago, when you were not too old, You went into a brand new world, T'was school you were told. And in the twelve years since then, times have been fun and sad, Many memories of all kinds We're certain you have had. Then one day someone said, land it did come to passj A brand new school you will attend, and be the oldest class. We find it's two years later, Time did so quickly fly, We tell you we will miss you, It's hard to say good-bye. Now once again you're starting into a different life, There will be days of happiness And also days of strife. That world out there is waiting. You'll find it's all brand new. Min memory lf a slngle word could be utnllzed to sum up lack Darley s outlook on llfe that word would have to be humamtarlanlsm for he was a man who made people hls hobby lack was born In ldaho State on February 4 1925 Durmg has career In the teaching fleld he worked In vlrtually every level of the educational structure from grade school to the Senior hugh level ln 1970 he opened Ferron Elementary School and served as the prlnclpal for three years Mr Dalley began teaching at Chaparral In February of 1973 DUfIHghlSII1ItIHl semester he helped mstltute changes that benefltted the students and the faculty lack was a person who rarely lost hrs temper un has profession and hls ever present sense of humor coupled with an understanding of others made It easy for hlm to make friends A love for the out of doors sparked a llklng for flshlng and baseball but a foot mlury made the latter sport out of hrs llmlts lt was on a flshmg tnp rn September of 1974 that lack Darley lost his llfe when a flash flood struck that point of Lake Mojave known as Nelson s Landing some forty mules out of Las Vegas The staff of this Yearbook sincerely regrets the loss of a frne teacher and an understanding human being and we extend our condolences to lack Dalley s wnfe also a teacher and has daughter lulle a graduate of Valley Hugh School . .. ., 1 r , . .
